The Golden Fish in Mytholmroyd is a Chinese takeaway. Â It is a pretty decent one too. The menu is huge, something for everyone. The English dishes are limited to omelettes, which in my opinion is not a bad thing.
As the menu is so huge we have not tried everything, we have found our favourites. These are: Singapore chow mein, this is excellent, great noodles, packed with chicken, pork, peppers, egg, chilli and bags of flavour.
The garlic chilli chicken, this one is spicy. It comes with a gravy – no idea what is in the gravy but it is very moreish, I love dipping chips in it. The ginger and spring onion dishes are also brilliant.
The chips are not greasy at all, they are crispy even after the 15 minute walk home, the egg fried rice is really tasty and perfectly cooked every time.
Prices are very reasonable. Mains are around the £6 mark, this includes chips. You can change chips for rice or fried rice for a small extra cost.
Service is efficient and speedy and the food is well packaged for your journey home. Over all I have been really pleased with everything we have tried, obviously there are some things that were just not to our tastes, but then they probably are someone else’s favourite.
