Friendly fisheries is a little gem, this is a proper chippy, the fish and chips are fried in beef dripping and this shows in the flavour. There is no choice when it comes to fish, it is haddock or haddock. The fish is excellent, really tasty, crispy batter and a very generous portion.
The portion sizes are enormous, we always share a chips and still do not manage to eat them all. They’ll also happily put some bits (scraps) on for you.
As the fish is freshly cooked there might be a short wait at times, but service is super friendly and efficient. This is worth a bit of a detour if you happen to be in the Calder valley and fancy a fish supper.
Fish and chips is around the £7 mark, I’ll update with the exact price next time we visit.
