Burger recipe
After a few disappointing burgers in restaurants I thought I would make my own, just to see if mine were indeed better than ones eaten out. The answer is yes!
Burger me up baby!
There it is, my home made burger, there isn’t any real recipe, just take 100g of minced beef per burger, season with salt and pepper, shape it and cook, we cook on a griddle for about 4 minutes each side.
Buy the best mince you can, we use Craggies a local farm shop, low fat mince is no good, it needs a bit of fat in or you’ll end up with a dry burger. I like to add about a teaspoon of finely minced red onion, a pinch of chilli flakes and a pinch of cumin per 100g to my mince.
We had these with a quick cucumber pickle. I also add a good shake of Herbamare seasoning to mine, it adds a bit more interest, if I had fresh dill I would add that, but at the time of writing this my herb garden is still in winter mode.
Side by side, my lovely juicy in a nice bun burger (left), compared with the charred offering in a rubbish dry fall apart bun in the posh burger chain. I know which one I want to eat again.
