Friendly Soap – Review

When we decided to try and kick plastic out of our lives one of the first and easiest swaps we made was to switch to bar soap and bar shampoo.  Luckily for me the first brand we tried was the rather brilliant Friendly soap .

So far we have tried the lemongrass and hemp soap, the charcoal detox bar and the lavender and geranium shampoo bar. We have the lemongrass and hemp bar in the kitchen, wonderful for washing hands after a walk with the dog or before food prep. I like the little bits in it that make it easy to grip.

The charcoal bar really does leave your skin feeling squeaky clean. It smells good too.  The shampoo bar lathers like a dream. I have long very thick hair and a quick rub of the bar on wet hair and I have loads of bubbles. It also rinses out much more easily than regular shampoo.

All the soaps are Free from Palm OilParabensSulphatesTriclosanPhthalates and Cruelty, as well as being boxed in plastic free recycled (and recyclable) packaging.

You can buy all these products and more from their website or if you are local we have seen the bars in Valley Organics and Pennine Provisions.

I’ll be trying the shea butter facial cleansing bar next. Will add more about that when I have been using it for a few weeks. If you want to reduce your plastic use or even if you don’t I really do highly recommend these products. A big thumbs up and if I were awarding stars a big gold one.
